MoyaTrace is the cloud companion for the on-site Master Pi packhouse system. All shift control, lane configuration, staff, wages and stickers are managed on the Master Pi โ€” this app is a read-only mirror for owners and managers, plus tools for reports, carton lookup and mobile alerts.

1. Install the app on iOS & Android

MoyaTrace works in any modern browser, but you can also install it as an app on your phone or tablet โ€” it then opens in its own window and is required for push notifications to work on iPhone.

iPhone / iPad (Safari)

  1. Open https://moyatrace.moyaindustries.com in Safari (not Chrome โ€” Add to Home Screen only works from Safari on iOS).
  2. Tap the Share icon (square with an up-arrow).
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Confirm the name MoyaTrace and tap Add.
  5. Launch the new MoyaTrace icon from your home screen โ€” it opens full-screen.

Android (Chrome / Edge / Samsung Internet)

  1. Open https://moyatrace.moyaindustries.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap the โ‹ฎ menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap Install app (or Add to Home screen > Install).
  4. Confirm Install. The MoyaTrace icon appears on your home screen.

LAN dashboard (Pi 5 โ€” works with no internet)

On site there is also a local dashboard served by the Master Pi on the packhouse network. It does not need the internet โ€” every scan is stored on the Pi and forwarded to the cloud only when the link returns.

  1. Connect your device to the same WiFi/LAN as the Pi (e.g. MoyaTrace network).
  2. Open http://<pi-ip>:8080/ โ€” ask the installer for the IP.
  3. Bookmark it or Add to Home Screen for a one-tap offline icon.

The MoyaTrace cloud app (this site) is used for reports, carton lookup, and remote/live viewing over the internet.

2. Signing in

Each packhouse has its own Username and PIN, issued by the software owner from the Installer tab. Enter both on the home page to open the dashboard for that packhouse's data.

  • Sessions are tied to a single packhouse โ€” you only see data for that tenant.
  • If you forget your PIN, ask the software owner to reset it from Installer.

3. Live Dashboard

The dashboard mirrors what the Master Pi is doing in real time. It refreshes every few seconds while a shift is active.

  • Shift timer โ€” counts up from shift start, minus the 11:30โ€“12:00 lunch break, minus any manual offset applied on the Pi.
  • Cartons โ€” total scanned across all lanes in the current shift.
  • Live target bar โ€” turns green when actual cartons meet or exceed the on-pace target (shift target ร— elapsed hrs).
  • Cost / carton โ€” value pushed live by the Master Pi every 15s (R/carton and R/kg). Turns green when on target.
  • Lane cards โ€” per-lane totals, current orchard block, staff on the line and live pack rate (cartons/hr). Shows Packing vs Idle based on recent scan activity.
  • Per orchard block โ€” cartons packed per block for the shift.
  • Rejected scans โ€” any scans the cloud rejected (bad HMAC, unknown code, etc.) with the reason, so the Master Pi can be corrected.
๐ŸŒStarting, stopping and pausing shifts is done on the Master Pi, not here. This app just displays what the Pi is running.

4. Carton Scan

The Carton Scan tab is a lookup tool for any carton in the database โ€” useful in the cold store, at dispatch, or when a customer queries a specific box.

  1. Open the tab and allow camera access.
  2. Point the camera at the QR code on the carton.
  3. The card shows: Snowflake ID, Code, Packer (e.g. LA-P3), Weight, Week no, and Date & Time in UTC+2.
  4. Download PDF saves a one-page report of the carton details.
  5. Email PDF opens your mail app with the details ready to send.

5. Reports

  • Filter by date range, lane, carton code, class, or orchard block.
  • Cartons per class shows % of total cartons per class.
  • Cartons CSV โ€” full carton-level export, opens directly into Excel columns.
  • Class CSV โ€” quick summary of cartons + % per class.
  • Export PDF โ€” branded report with summary, per-lane cost, per-class %, and the selected packer's performance vs peers. (Cartons-per-packer table is not included.)
  • Packer performance โ€” compare one packer position against peers at the same position on other lanes.
  • All timings use the lunch-break-adjusted worked hours.

6. Settings (read-only mirror + Carton catalog)

Most of Settings is a read-only view of what the Master Pi has synced โ€” lanes, staff positions, wages, and feature flags. To change any of these, change them on the Pi; the sync will update this page within seconds.

Carton types (editable)

The one section you can edit here is the carton catalog. This lets you fix scan-rejection issues without going back to the Pi. Each row:

  • Code โ€” SKU printed on the sticker barcode (e.g. 1NLXC).
  • Class โ€” grade label (e.g. CLASS 1).
  • Target content (kg) โ€” target fruit weight (default 17.5 kg).
  • Packaging (kg) โ€” carton + liner weight, subtracted from gross to derive content weight.
  • Tolerance ยฑkg โ€” currently set to 0.3 kg across all SKUs.
  • Active โ€” turn off a SKU to reject incoming scans for it.

Shift notifications

The Shift notifications card lets each manager device receive a push notification the moment a shift starts or ends.

  • Open Settings on the device you want to receive alerts.
  • Tap Enable notifications and allow the browser prompt.
  • Use Send test to confirm delivery, or Disable to stop alerts on that device.
  • Re-send shift-started manually fires the alert for the current active shift (useful if a device missed it).
  • Every manager who enables it on their own device gets both alerts โ€” start and end.
๐ŸŒiPhone: web push only works from an installed home-screen app. Add MoyaTrace to your Home Screen first, open it from that icon, then enable notifications. iOS 16.4 or newer required.

7. Installer (software owner only)

The Installer tab is used by the software owner to manage packhouse tenants. Each row is one packhouse:

  • Name โ€” displayed on the dashboard header.
  • Username โ€” used to log in.
  • PIN โ€” password; stored hashed, can be reset here.
  • Ingest Secret โ€” the HMAC secret programmed into that packhouse's Master Pi. All incoming scans from that Pi are routed to this tenant only.
๐ŸŒThe ingest secret is unique per packhouse. If it is changed here it mustalso be updated on the corresponding Master Pi, or scans from that Pi will be rejected.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Cartons total isn't moving. Check that a shift is active on the Master Pi and that the Pi has internet. Scans made while offline are queued on the Pi and flush automatically when the link returns.
  • Rejected scans panel keeps growing. Open it and read the reason โ€” usually an unknown carton code (fix in Settings โ†’ Carton types) or a HMAC mismatch (ingest secret out of sync between Pi and Installer).
  • Cost / carton is blank. The Master Pi hasn't pushed live cost yet. Confirm the Pi's live-cost job is running and pointed at this app's /api/public/live-cost with the correct ingest secret.
  • Wrong shift date on scans. The Master Pi's clock was off when the shift was started. Fix the clock on the Pi; contact the software owner if historical data needs to be corrected.
  • Per orchard block card shows everything under one block. Set each lane's current block on the Master Pi at the start of the shift, or update it when the lane switches blocks.
  • CSV opens as one column in Excel. The export includes sep=, and a UTF-8 BOM. If it still doesn't split, open Excel first and use Data โ†’ From Text/CSV.
  • Installed app is showing old content. Close and re-open it โ€” the cache refreshes on relaunch.
  • No shift notification arrived. Confirm the device shows Enabled on this device under Settings โ†’ Shift notifications and that the system notification permission is granted. On iPhone the app must be opened from the home-screen icon, not Safari.
  • Tabs overlap on my phone. Fixed โ€” scroll the tab bar horizontally.
